I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.
As we all know, it’s Christmas. October 31st was Christmas Eve. Now that Thanksgiving is over, it’s about to be December, aka Christmas v.2.0. So to celebrate the magic, the innocence, the warmth, and the joy of the season that is meant to encapsulate all of those things, I’m delighted to officially announce the Christmage Collab!
Due to run from December 1st through the 24th, the Christmage Collab was conceived by Gary Heneghan (@carrythegary) the Hopeful Sega Mage, soon to be rebranded with Sega-esque coloring. The best way to describe this collab is it’s all about memories. We’re coming up on the end of the year. It’s a reflective time for many of us. The Mages and the Warriors of Light participating in this collab are going to share their cherished memories with us, a different writer each day. Really, there’s nothing more that we can give but ourselves and these memories represent who we are.
I look forward to it with (maybe) the same anticipation as waking up on Christmas morning after Santa’s been. So, religious or irreligious, sacred or profane, seeker or secular, whether you celebrate Christmas or no, I hope you’ll join me in sharing in the lives of the writers and supporters that make The Well-Red Mage the place that it is. No matter what kind of life we’ve lived or what beliefs we hold, I think we can all agree that this time of year is a time for community. We can love our “neighbors” in this online community as ourselves by learning more about their pasts as they share them all the way up to the 24th.

It’s going to be a merry month, but wait there’s more!
Through the entire month of December, I plan to share some of my favorite classical/instrumental musical pieces, one work each day. If there’s any time of year that’s most appropriate for classical music, it’s this time. I’ve never really shared much of my passion for instrumental music outside of video games around these parts, so I’m really looking forward to this! I hope you enjoy it as much as I will. I already finished my list (and checked it twice) and I took great care to try to pick songs that would fit the personalities of the writers each day through this collab. Maybe you’ll guess why I picked certain works? Maybe you’ll be able to figure out who my favorite composer is when it’s through. #TWRMstrumental
December is full, just like my life. I have been able to do so much and be friends with so many thanks to the people who have brought their voices to the WordPress community, the Twitter community, the TWRM community, and the gaming community at large. I’m so thankful for everyone who’s taken the time to write with us, support us, read our works, and share their thoughts.
Thank you to all and to all a good night!
-The Well-Red Mage
