The people were dancing mad … The ladies of Vienna are particularly celebrated for their grace and movements of waltzing of which they never tire.
“The following is a contributor post by the ABXY Mage.”
Well, we’ve made it three-quarters of the way through the year. And, with the sunsets coming sooner and sooner, the leaves beginning to change color and fall, it was noticed that it had been awhile since the last TWRM Radio. I mean, it was a beach themed mix.
The Well-Red Mage, busy up to his potion pouch with editing, critiquing, and MAGE CAST, graciously allowed me to put together the latest edition of TWRM Radio.
So, I present you with “Tanzen,” a mix of waltzes from video games.
The popular, three-four time signature has been tied to video games for a long time, often being found in underwater levels, castles, or times of uneasiness. However, outside the contexts of the games, these songs are actually more beautiful than anything else. Spanning a gamut from mysterious to whimsical, these waltzes are perfect to accompany cooking dinner or enjoying a warm evening on the porch.
I tried to arrange the songs in a way that would flow naturally while also trying to mix up the moods of the tracks. The order also tells a story. Well, it does in my head, anyway. What kind of story would you write to this soundtrack? Tell us in the comments below.
Also, as this was my first attempt at directing an episode of TWRM Radio, I’d love to know what you thought of it.
A special thanks goes out to the The Well-Red Mage (The Well-Red Mage), The Hyperactive Coffee Mage (Games with Coffee), and The Sometimes Vaguely Philosophical Mage (Overthinker Y) for contributing nominees to this mix! Thank you!
The ABXY Mage leads a double life of unfathomable hipness, if his expertise in jazz is any indication. Music maker, fandangoist, writer, you can find this hip cat as ABXY Reviews on Twitter and on YouTube.
