TWRM Radio: “Ignition” – 1hr of video game driving music

When speed gets in the blood, one must drive to live.

Welcome to another mix from TWRM Radio!

This particular entry was a personal challenge for me to put together. That’s because it happens to be a collection of fast-paced Racing themes and I have to admit to you that I don’t play too many racing games all that often. I could probably count the racing games I’ve played on two hands.

That makes me appreciate the contributions to this list from the ABXY Mage (who proposed this theme) and the Purple Prose Mage (who selected a large body of music and put it into a neat playlist!). I certainly could not have done this mix alone, not without doing a massive amount of delving into the adrenaline-fueled haste that is video game racing music.

This theme is all about speed so I picked from a selection of songs with tempo and tension in mind, songs that were fast and songs that built anticipation. Also, I still sneaked some Final Fantasy in there because what’s a TWRM Radio mix without that?

Start your engines…

Thanks for reading and listening. Our next theme will be… Acoustic Guitar!

I’m already in the mood for some mellow again. Do you know of any video game songs that are based around the acoustic guitar? Share them in the comments and let us know. Maybe they’ll appear in the next TWRM Radio!

Play it with feeling,
