Celebratory Post: 4000 hits!

Muchas Gracias, NPCs!

We reached 4000 hits today, which is 1000 hits in 13 days, if you’re a mathematician. I had to use a calculator…

In true form, we here at The Well-Red Mage would like to give  back to our generous community by sharing a little art (concept and fan), this time from a game that can truly be called an art piece if any game ever could: Journey by thatgamecompany.

If you’ve played the game at all then you’ll know it’s a transcendent experience with an emotional core. You can read our review here. At the time of this writing, Journey is the highest rated game on our blog, standing at a nigh perfect 9.8.

If you still need a further Journey fix, come and get it by reading our post on the lyrics for the closing song “I was born for this”.

Thank you, readers, and enjoy!

    • Thanks for your comment. Journey left a deep impression on me. I’ve been trying to find something on thatgamecompany’s next project, but have come up dry. Let us know if you find out anything! Hopefully they aren’t defunct.

  1. Congratulations on the milestone! Is that 4,000 unique visitors or site visits? I always get a little confused myself when I check my statistics. 😛

Can’t say I’m a big fan of Journey myself. I mean, it’s certainly better than a lot of its indie contemporaries *Cough! Limbo! Cough cough!* but I think it could have used a little more…game. Still though, it definitely has great artwork.

    • Thanks themancalledscott! This would definitely be 4000 site visits, views, hits, etc. We currently stand at 789 unique visitors, so that’s the difference there and such and I thought about calculating the average views per visitor but I hate math, so… It can be a little confusing.
I guess I’m in a place in my life right now where I need some smaller, bite-sized games. I unfortunately don’t have too much time for the long games of yesteryear, and I was impressed with the presentation of Journey, but I understand it’s not for everyone and I thought even then it was a little too short.
Hey, man, we still need to do our musical “collab” project! I plan on doing Beach themes next month.

  2. Well done! That’s a good stat indeed, especially 1000 views in 13 days — we haven’t got anywhere near that in that space of time. We’ve actually got around 4000 views if you remove the 8000 or whatever refreshes my idiot friend did.
